Mother's

Mothers are primarily responsible for the nurture of their children.1

Satan would like us to believe that motherhood is not significant and to pursue other adventures.  Making the daily sacrifices and work to be beneath and loathsome.  There is nothing more sacred than to love and teach children and raise them to know and love God. Mothers are there to give life, protect, and love her children. C.S. Lewis, “The homemaker has the ultimate career. All other careers exist for one purpose only – and that is to support the ultimate career.”2

There is nothing I wanted more in this life than to be a wife and mother.  It is so precious to have my sweet little ones look to me to play with them, hold their hand, to love them, and teach them in all stages of learning.  The joy on their faces when the learn and accomplish what is important to them is one of my greatest joys.

Motherhood is Christ-like. As a new mother I baby proofed the house and made sure my babies were safe. I would sing to them, read to them, and love them. When they began school, I did everything possible to help be prepared for learning, the social aspects of school, and help them through their struggles.  I have said many prayers on behalf of my children pleading for the help and the comforting power of the Holy Ghost to be with them as I'd send them off to school.  "There are few things more powerful than the prayers of a righteous mother"3 Boyd K Packer. I have held these words close to my heart and I strive to be righteous so that when needed I can access the power of heaven on behalf of my children.

Mothers have the innate ability to know how to teach and care for each child differently.  Each child comes with a different set of needs and strengths.  Mothers know how to guide and direct and seek wisdom and direction through prayer. “There is no one perfect way to be a good mother. Each situation is unique. Each mother has different challenges, different skills and abilities, and certainly different children. The choice is different and unique for each mother and each family…What matters is that a mother loves her children deeply and, in keeping with the devotion she has for God and her husband, prioritized them above all else.”4 Elder Ballard

President Thomas S Monson, “May each of us treasure this truth:…One cannot remember mother and forget God. Why: Because these two sacred persons, God and mother, partners in creation, in love, in sacrifice, in service, are as one."5 These statements give motherhood an unparalleled position of significance in heavenly Father’s plan of happiness.
